Young Adult Reads
Coming of age stories, relatable characters and themes that speak to teen life and beyond. YA books are for anyone who enjoys fresh voices and big emotions.

I thought Little Women would be boring since it’s so old, but it’s actually pretty relatable. Jo is my favorite she’s independent and doesn’t care what people think, which feels very modern. Meg worries about fitting in, Beth is the sweet quiet one and Amy is selfish at first but grows up a lot.
The book is slow compared to today’s YA, but it’s about family, growing up and figuring out who you are, which teens still get. If you’re patient, it’s worth it Jo March is basically the original strong female lead.

Once Upon A Broken Heart by Stephanie Garber
This book feels like stepping into a dark fairy tale. Evangeline makes a risky deal with Jacks, the Prince of Hearts, who’s as dangerous as he is charming. The magical settings castles, secret halls, glittering kingdoms make you feel like you’re traveling through another world.
It’s full of romance, drama and twists that keep you hooked. A great read if you love adventure with a touch of danger.

If He Had Been With Me by Laura Nowlin
This story is emotional and heartbreaking, about childhood friends Autumn and Finny whose lives drift apart even though their connection never really fades. It feels real, messy and full of those “what if” moments that stick with you.
The writing pulls you in and makes you think about love, friendship and how fragile life can be. It’s a moving read that stays with you long after the last page.

Picking Daisies On Sundays by Liana Cincotti
I really liked this story because it felt sweet and real. Daisy and Levi’s fake dating starts off funny but slowly turns into something deeper and I found myself rooting for them the whole way.
It reminded me of watching a cosy rom com, but in book form. The characters felt relatable and it left me smiling when I finished.
