Six Women Of Salem by Marilynne K. Roach

Six Women of Salem is about real women caught up in the Salem witch trials, and it’s way more intense than I expected. It follows six different women, showing how fear and lies basically ruined lives. Some were accused, some accused other and it really shows how scary it was to be a girl back then.

It’s not super fast paced, but it’s fascinating and kind of creepy in a true story way. Reading it made me realize how quickly rumors can spread and destroy people, which still happens now just online instead of in court.

Weyward by Emilia Hart

This story follows three women, across different centuries, all connected by strength, survival and the power of nature. It blends history, mystery and a touch of magic in a way that feels gripping and atmospheric.

As a mum, I loved how it explored women finding their voices in difficult times. It’s powerful, beautifully written and the kind of book that lingers long after you finish.

The Housemaid by Freida McFadden

I couldn’t tear myself away from The Housemaid, its a kind of book you keep sneaking back to whenever you have a spare minute. Millie’s struggle for redemption, the eerie Winchester household and the mounting dread in each chapter had me completely hooked. what starts as a lifeline for a desperate young woman spirals into a claustrophobic nightmare of manipulation and buried secrets. A gripping, addictive read.

The Villa by Rachel Hawkins

I picked up The Villa expecting a cheeky holiday read and it delivered all that plus a cleverly twisted mystery I wasn’t ready for. Two frenemies on holiday, sun bleached drama and suddenly everything goes sideways. I found myself flipping pages faster than cocktail hour. It’s charming, unpredictable and just the right amount of shady. Perfect for a guilty pleasure thriller that still keeps you guessing.
